Wu Wei Isn't Laziness — It's Leverage

Grow Choose Well

Wu wei is usually translated as “non-action,” which makes it sound like an excuse to nap.

It isn’t. It’s the art of acting with the grain of a situation instead of against it — finding the move that makes ten other moves unnecessary. The farmer who plants in season does less than the one who fights the weather, and grows more.

Most effort is friction. The skill is noticing where the friction is, and stepping out of it.
